Oh, man... It's been a long time! Mundane life has gotten me down recently and I forgot how much I missed all of my lovely SCAdian friends. Ymir 51 has been a time-honored tradition in our household, mostly due to it's theme ALWAYS vibing with my persona, but also because it is always a simply fantastic event. My focus this event was different than my previous visits - I had Skald, Jr. with me! The Ymir children's activities are always on point and Lady Liv Ivarsdatter of Bryn Madoc (Meridies) did not disappoint. We spent Friday evening at the Myth Weaver's Gathering drinking "Asgardian Dew", eating "Valhalla Bites", and composing Norse-themed Mad Libs. On Saturday, we crafted some delightful hand puppets (in honor of Tyr, of course!), participated in a "Norse Mythology Scavenger Hunt", and threw (plastic) axes. Skald, Jr. has never had a better time at an event!
Following the activities, I did manage to sneak in some me-time at the Bardic Solar hosted by Efenwealt Wystle! I was able to perform my relatively newest piece "The Last White Rose (Adelhait's Lament)" for those gathered and was incredibly honored to receive a lovely bracelet as token from Mistress Morgan Wolfsinger for my song.
It felt so GOOD to sing again! I came home INSPIRED and INVIGORATED - ready to take on the Knowne World! Incredibly grateful to all of the Ymir staff for the incredible job they did organizing an amazing event.
Watch out, Atlantia! Signy the Skald is back and ready to entertain!
Happy barding!
